ADT Sponsors Leading Engineering Simulation Conference in Berlin
Advanced Design Technology (ADT), a global leader of advanced turbomachinery design methods and the creator of TURBOdesign Suite will sponsor and exhibit at the STAR Global Conference in Berlin on 6-8 March. The STAR Global Conference is an annual celebration of Engineering Simulation, showcasing the latest software developments and applications and exploring all that is required to deliver "Better Designs. Faster." After the recent success of events in 2016, ADT is presenting the latest release of TURBOdesign Suite 6.2.0 – the unique toolset that streamlines further the process of design and optimization of turbomachinery components.
The conference will reveal the future of STAR-CCM+® and HEEDS® within the new Siemens Simcenter, diving further into the world of Multidisciplinary Design eXploration. Leading industrial experts will explain in detail how they use CFD and engineering simulation to shape the products of the future while solving some of the most difficult problems engineering has to offer.
ADT and CD-adapco will deliver a joint presentation on achieving better turbomachinery designs, faster, with TURBOdesign1 (TD1), STAR-CCM+, and HEEDS. The presentation will explore the design space for a fan using TD1 as the design software, STAR-CCM+ as the CFD analysis tool and HEEDS as the design exploration software. The powerful fully parametric features available in TURBOdesign1 enable the direct exploration of a large design space with few parameters. STAR-CCM+ by Siemens PLM provides accurate flow prediction including efficiency and noise, while, HEEDS enables the seamless coupling of TURBOdesign1 and STAR-CCM+ with an algorithm for design space exploration. The insight gained from the design exploration system will help engineers choose the best designs across the complete operating range with efficiency improvements of 20-30%.
The event will provide an opportunity for ADT to demonstrate how the different modules in TURBOdesign suite allow designers to achieve higher-performance and higher-efficiency designs to meet their latest requirements. ADT’s unique inverse-design approach provides designers with direct control of the aerodynamic design process, opening up the design space and frequently leading to “breakthrough” designs. ADT’s clients often report that the insights that designers gain are easily transposed to related applications, spreading the benefits across their product range.
